These terms govern your use of Gamigo, operated by [legal entity name], registered at [registered address] (“Gamigo”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Gamigo.
What Gamigo is
Gamigo is a gaming community platform. It helps you discover other gamers, gaming cafes, communities and events near you, and arrange to play together – most often in person.
Gamigo is an introduction service, not a party to what happens next. We provide the means for members to find each other and agree a time and place. We do not host, supervise, staff, chaperone or attend gaming sessions, meetups, parties or events, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with another member, a venue or an organizer.
Who can use Gamigo
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- You must be legally able to enter into a contract where you live.
- You must not have been previously removed from Gamigo.
- You may hold only one account unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it.
Your account
- The information on your profile must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account, including by anyone you let use it.
- Keep your credentials to yourself. Tell us promptly at [security contact] if you think someone else has access.
- Do not impersonate anyone, misstate your age, or present yourself as affiliated with Gamigo when you are not.
Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post – profile text, photographs, screenshots, community help posts, replies, links and messages. By posting it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating Gamigo. That licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies retained in backups or where we are required to keep them.
You are responsible for what you post. Only post content you have the right to post, and do not post anything that infringes someone else’s rights.
Content posted by other members is theirs, not ours. We do not review everything before it appears, and we do not endorse it. Where we moderate, we hide content rather than edit it, and the member who posted it can still see it.
Meeting other members
Gamigo exists to get people playing together in the same room. That means real people meeting at homes, gaming cafes, venues, parties and events. The following applies to every one of those.
Your safety is your own decision
Gamigo is a platform for discovery and connection. We are not responsible for your personal safety during any meeting, gaming session, journey, meetup, party, event, visit to another member’s home, visit to a gaming cafe or venue, or any other offline interaction.
You decide whether to meet someone, where to meet them, and whether to continue. You are responsible for exercising your own judgement, taking reasonable precautions and choosing appropriate locations. We recommend meeting in a public or professionally run venue first, telling someone you trust where you are going, arranging your own transport, and leaving whenever you want to, for any reason or none.
What verification does and does not mean
Some profiles carry a verification badge. A badge means only that the member completed the specific check described on the platform at the time they completed it.
A verification badge is not a safety guarantee and not a character reference.
We do not guarantee the identity, age, behaviour, intentions, honesty, skill level, reliability, conduct or safety of any member, venue or organizer – whether or not they are verified, and whether or not they have a good rating. Ratings and history describe what other members reported about past sessions. They do not predict the next one.
Venues, homes and events
- Gaming cafes, venues and event organizers listed on Gamigo are independent businesses and individuals. They are not our agents, employees or partners unless we say so explicitly.
- We do not inspect, licence, insure or supervise any venue or event, and we do not verify that a venue is safe, lawful, insured or suitable.
- If you host at your home, you decide who you invite and you accept the risks of doing so. If you visit someone’s home, the same applies to you.
- Any agreement about price, timing, access, equipment, food, drink or house rules is between you and the venue, host or organizer.
Conduct we expect
Treat other members the way you would want to be treated in someone else’s living room. Our Community Guidelines set this out in full and form part of these terms.
Prohibited conduct
You must not, on Gamigo or in connection with it:
- Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, intimidate or abuse anyone.
- Discriminate against or demean anyone on the basis of caste, religion, race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, language or appearance.
- Impersonate another person, a venue, an organizer or Gamigo itself.
- Run scams, phishing, fraudulent payment requests or any other deception.
- Post spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or advertising unrelated to gaming.
- Post malicious links, malware, or links that lead somewhere other than they appear to.
- Post sexual content, sexual content involving minors, graphic violence, or content promoting self-harm.
- Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone’s intellectual property or privacy.
- Share another member’s personal information, address, photographs or messages without their consent.
- Solicit money, investment, gambling, betting or wagering of any kind.
- Bring anyone under 18 to a session arranged through Gamigo, or arrange sessions on behalf of one.
- Use Gamigo to recruit for, promote or organise anything unlawful.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, probe or interfere with the platform or its security.
- Use automated means to create accounts, send messages or manipulate ratings.
Reporting and moderation
If something goes wrong, report it on the platform or write to [support contact]. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services first – we cannot respond at that speed.
We may hide content, restrict an account, suspend it, or close it permanently where we consider these terms or the Community Guidelines have been broken, or where we consider it necessary to protect members. We aim to give you the reason and a way to respond, except where doing so would risk someone’s safety or breach a legal obligation.
Paid gaming, rewards and payments
- Paid gaming is optional and switched off unless you turn it on. You never have to use it.
- Gamigo is not a gambling or betting platform. Nothing on it is a wager, a game of chance played for money, or a stake.
- We do not promise, forecast or guarantee any level of earnings. Anything you earn depends entirely on what other members choose to book.
- Identity verification is required before you can receive money. It is not required to play.
- Rewards and loyalty points have no cash value except as described on the platform, and we may change or end those programmes with notice.
- Payments are handled by our payment provider under its own terms. We do not store your full card details.
- Fees, commission and taxes are described on the platform before you commit to a transaction. You are responsible for your own tax obligations.
Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refunds & Cancellations policy.
Availability of the service
We aim to keep Gamigo available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we may stop offering the service in a particular city or country.
Gaming sessions and bookings
A session is an arrangement between the members taking part. When you accept or confirm a session you are agreeing with that other member or venue, not with us. What you agree – the game, the time, the place, who pays for what – is yours to settle and yours to honour.
- Confirm only sessions you intend to attend, and attend the ones you confirm.
- Tell the other side as early as you can if plans change. Late cancellations and no-shows are recorded and affect your reliability record.
- Where a session has a minimum or maximum number of players, respect it.
- Do not bring additional people to a session without the agreement of everyone already in it.
- Ratings left after a session should describe what actually happened.
We may show other members a record of your completed sessions, cancellations and ratings. That record describes your history on the platform; it is not a character assessment and we do not present it as one.
Communities, squads and groups
Members can form groups and communities. Whoever creates one is responsible for how it is run, within these terms and the Community Guidelines. We may close a group that is used to organise anything prohibited, and we may remove a member from one.
Community help posts
The community help space lets you describe a problem you are stuck on, optionally with a screenshot, and lets other members reply with text, a video link, or both. Posting there is public to signed-in members.
- Only upload screenshots you have the right to share, and nothing that shows another person’s private information.
- Video links must point to the providers the platform supports, and to content you are entitled to link to.
- We check the shape of a link, not what is behind it. A link that passes our checks is not a link we have vouched for.
- Answers are given by other members. They may be wrong. Use your own judgement before acting on one, particularly anything involving downloads, account credentials or payments.
Our intellectual property
Gamigo, the Gamigo name, logo and the design of the platform belong to us. These terms give you permission to use the service; they do not transfer any ownership. Do not copy, adapt or reuse our branding or design without written permission.
Game titles, publisher names, artwork and trademarks referred to on the platform belong to their respective owners. Their appearance on Gamigo does not imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement, in either direction.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on Gamigo infringes your copyright, write to [copyright contact] with enough detail to identify the work, the content you say infringes it, your contact details, and a statement that you are entitled to complain. We will review it, and may remove the content while we do.
Links and third parties
Gamigo contains links to other websites and services, and relies on third parties for payments, identity verification and hosting. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.
Things outside our control
We are not liable for failing to do something under these terms where the cause is outside our reasonable control – including network or power failure, the failure of a third-party service we depend on, industrial action, civil disturbance, epidemic, or an act of government.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited – including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of other members, venues, hosts or organizers.
- We are not liable for loss, injury, damage or distress arising from any offline meeting or session arranged through Gamigo.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill.
- Our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to [liability cap].
Ending your use of Gamigo
You can close your account at any time from your account settings. We may end your access as described under Reporting and moderation. The sections that by their nature should survive – content licence, liability, and dispute resolution – continue to apply after your account closes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will give you at least [notice period] notice through the platform or by email. Continuing to use Gamigo after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [governing jurisdiction], and the courts of [courts] have exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us at [legal contact] so we can try to resolve the matter directly.
If part of these terms cannot be enforced
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing a term on one occasion does not mean we give it up.
Transferring these terms
You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours to a company that takes over the business, on the same terms.
The whole agreement
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Community Guidelines and the Refunds & Cancellations policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about your use of Gamigo.
